The first chapter is mainly about Lily's thoughts about her father she lives with and the loss of her mother. She lost her mother when she was only four years old, and Lily blames herself for this. After this, T. Ray treated her like shit. Rosaleen is working in the house of Lily and T. Ray, where she cleans, cooks and is Lily’s “stand-in-mom”.
One day when Lily and Rosaleen is heading to town, Rosaleen gets beaten up by two men. She is sent to hospital, and Lily wants to save her so they run away together. Lily wants to find her mother and the travel to the city of Tiburon where she hopes she can find out who her mother really was. This is the beginning of a beautiful story of a girl and her eager to find her mother.
I think the book was very catchy and I read all the 66 pages in one day. I cant wait to finish it!
